MORE ABOUT #TheMotoSocialCAPETOWN
With our vision set on building community and building camaraderie, we've joined forces with the rad crew behind the Woodstock Moto Co. in Cape Town, South Africa. Together with founder Devin Paisley and friends Archie Leeming and Teresa McGregor, we're kicking-off #TheMotoSocialCAPETOWN in February 2017 for the very first time. Cape Town is the first city outside of Canada to host TheMotoSocial and we could not be more stoked. We're so excited to watch the community in Cape Town continue to grow and come together as we collaborate and host our monthly events in the city.
We're MORE ABOUT THE PEOPLE.
MOTORCYCLES ARE THE COMMON THREAD.
Our vision for #TheMotoSocialCAPETOWN is the same as all the other cities. "To build community and to build camaraderie." Since the beginning, we've worked hard to create an event that was more about the people than the bikes themselves. An event that was intentionally chill and welcoming and help people actually connect with one another. We wanted to create an event that made our big cities feel a bit smaller and got people excited about seeing one another. Having hosted TheMotoSocial in Toronto now since 2013, we're starting to see new friendships forming, as well as a real positive shift in the culture of our Toronto community. There's a real sense of unity being felt across the city and we want to create that environment in every major city around the world. That's really what we're all about and what we're hoping to cultivate in the city of CAPE TOWN.

COMMUNITY HOSTS of #themotosocialCAPETOWN
I work as a model, photographer and owner of the Woodstock Moto Co. - a community moto garage. I was born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa - the best motorcycling city in the world, but it wasn't until I was 19 that I got a bike. Initially motorcycling offered me freedom and adventure but in the last few years it has also become a platform for building a community through the WMC. I'm very proud of the moto-family that has come together and is constantly growing. My passion is getting people onto motorcycles, equipping them with the skills to work on their own bikes and to keep motorcycling fun and accessible.
Curious, passionate, creative entrepreneur. I'm totally into my husband and ultimate friend Stephen who supports me in everything, my two Boston Terrier rescues, motorcycles, proper flat whites, great brekkie spots, the colour yellow and musicals (cue music). I have my own graphic & web design business called Prettig Design and a custom gift & branding company called Dirasi. Keeps me out of trouble I guess! Totally stoked about #TheMotoSocial in Cape Town. Everyone needs to feel like they belong, that they have a place to go to and a space where they can meet like-minded people.
Cape Town has been my home for three years now. I arrived on a worn out Suzuki DR350 after 10 months winding through Africa from Scotland. With endless sunny days, sweeping mountain roads and life by the sea there was no way I was turning back for home! When I'm not figuring out where that last oil leak began or when not lost in the wilds of the Cederberg, I work as a UX designer for a travel start-up. I am looking forward to bringing old friends and new friends together to share and inspire more adventure-filled riding.
