MORE ABOUT #TheMotoSocialEDMONTON
With our vision set on building community and building camaraderie, we've joined forces with Justin Benson, Ashleigh Kaliszuk and Bretton Hammond to bring #TheMotoSocial to EDMONTON. We launched our first event in May 2017 and the trio have been running our monthly events ever since. We could not be more stoked. We're so excited to see the community in Edmonton continue to grow and come together as we continue to collaborate and host our monthly events in the city.
IT'S MORE ABOUT THE PEOPLE.
MOTORCYCLES ARE THE COMMON THREAD.
Our vision for #TheMotoSocialEDMONTON is the same as all the other cities. "To build community and to build camaraderie." Since the beginning we've worked hard to create an event that was more about the people than the bikes themselves and an event that helped people connect with one another. We wanted to create an event that made our big cities feel a bit smaller and got people excited about seeing one another. Having hosted TheMotoSocial in Toronto now since 2013, we're starting to see new friendships forming, as well as a real positive shift in the culture of our Toronto community. There's a real sense of unity being felt across the city and we want to create that environment in every major city around the world. That's really what we're all about and what we're hoping to cultivate in the city of Edmonton.
During the day you can find me slingin’ weenies at my new hot dog shop “Mayday” or designing/marketing with Federal Moto. Every other waking minute is spent finding and riding some of the best roads the west coast has to offer. Living so close to such incredible riding has really reinforced the old “it’s about the journey not the destination” mantra. I am really looking forward to bringing together a moto community where we can swap war stories about recent adventures and plan for new ones.
I’m a Red Seal crane operator and photographer. I split my time between Alberta and Arizona and take advantage of year-round adventures! When I’m not photographing wicked people and their bikes, I’m in the middle of the desert capturing landscapes and stars. Though I was born and raised in the Okanagan — I have a profound love for Alberta. It’s that love that fuels my desire to do whatever I can to help build our local moto community here in Edmonton, which is why I am so grateful to be apart of TheMotoSocialEDMONTON team.
Since I can remember I've had an interest in all things mechanical. I started riding dirt bikes when I was 9 and for the past 20 years, I've been adventuring and exploring on all types of bikes. I spend my days working in the social/business sectors with a local non-profit organization. I'm socially motivated to see healthy and sustainable community built in our city. Edmonton is an amazing and unique city and I'm excited to be merging my passions of community and motorcycles to see friends and complete strangers come together to hang out.
