The workload is light, but it’s still a commitment.

INTRODUCTION

The Moto Social in each city is run by a small team of volunteers we call the “Lead Team.” Lead Team members are passionate about building community and connecting people, they want to see their local motorcycle community be more inclusive and more connected, and they’re willing to do the work required to make that a reality. Lead Team members are responsible for working together to organize, promote and host their local monthly events and bring their community together.

As The Moto Social events grow in each city over the first couple of years, the Lead Team is responsible for building up 2 additional teams of local volunteers to help them with event support. These 2 additional teams are called the local “Core Team” and “Support Team.” Building these two additional teams is key to effectively connecting people and building a strong sense of community locally. Together, by intentionally hosting and connect people at our events, these 3 teams of passionate community builders cultivate the inclusive and welcoming vibe that sets The Moto Social apart from other bike-meets.

TEAMS

1. LEAD TEAM

2-4 people (6 if you grow a large community following)
Commitment: 5-10 hours per month.

Lead Team members make the decisions locally to organize and execute each monthly event. They also invite, oversee and build up a strong Core Team and Support Team for support and sustainability. They lead by example, they inspire others, and build people up.

2. CORE TEAM

6-10 additional local people
Commitment: 3-5 hour per month.

The Core Team is invite only. Members are invited by the Lead Team and each member is vetted by The Moto Social HQ. Core Team members are often dependable friends from within the community. Core Team members are the pillars that support and help the Lead Team members in executing everything. They have a lower commitment level than the Lead Team members and mostly help with “on the day” event logistics and hosting.

3. SUPPORT TEAM

10-50 additional Local people
No commitment, but here to help.

Anyone can be a Support Team member. Support Team members have no regular responsibility when it comes to setting up or tearing down on the day of the events. Their role is simply to host, to be intentionally inclusive and to connect with people. We like to describe hosting as “chatting more with people we don’t know, and introduce them to people we do know.” We also ask that Support Team members be open to being occasionally contacted by their local Lead Team members when additional and specific support is needed at their local events.

Please Note: Our Support Team Subscription & Management system is still being developed. The signup system will be announced at a later date. Implementing a Support Team structure in all of The Moto Social cities is extremely important to us so that we can Continue making sure our events are welcoming and approachable to all.
